iDonate are a groundbreaking fundraising platform. A longtime friend of the programme, they have made a very significant contribution to their sector. Established in 2011 in Galway, Ireland, they emerged as a leading online fundraising platform dedicated to supporting charities and non-profit organizations across the country. Founded by Alan Coyne, who previously served as the technical director at Western Webs, iDonate has continually evolved to meet the diverse needs of fundraisers and donors alike. Special Request

Many people might not know that - in response to a special request on our behalf during a major fundraising drive - iDonate developed an innovative digital system that enables funds raised to be shared among more than one charity using the same process and platform.

Digital Innovation

This had never been done before and meant that we could distribute much-needed money to each of our charity benefactors simultaneously. iDonate did this for us free of charge, and are consistently supportive of our community, charity and entrepreneurial endeavours.

Sponsorship & Support

iDonate also sponsored the Upstarts “Key to the City” initiative, which helped very early start-ups bring their business to life during the time they need support the most. Introduced in 2019, this service incorporates electronic signatures on CHY3/4 Charitable Donation Scheme forms, simplifying the tax relief process for donors and potentially increasing charity revenues.

Launched in 2020, this feature enables organizations to host raffles online, expanding their fundraising strategies. ​

Recent Initiatives

In a significant move to bolster community support, iDonate recently onboarded over 700 Men's Sheds groups across Ireland. This initiative provides each group with access to iDonate's comprehensive fundraising tools, enhancing their ability to engage supporters and secure necessary funding.

Collaborations

iDonate partners with GivePanel to adapt to changes in social media fundraising tools in the European Economic Area. This collaboration ensures that Irish nonprofits can continue to effectively run social media challenges, even without Meta's native fundraising tools, by leveraging iDonate's robust platform.

Fees & Charges

iDonate proudly offer this service completely free of charge. There are no charges, hidden or otherwise, on their platform with no monthly or annual fees either. A low transaction fee of just 1.95% + €0.25 covers card and bank interchange fees, which is 33% lower than what competitors offer.
